Rights

Rights are legal entitlements that help protect a company’s ideas, creations and anything they’ve worked hard to make. Rights can be patents, trade marks, copyrights, licenses, contracts or exclusive agreements. They can become valuable intangible assets when they guarantee exclusivity or the freedom to operate in certain markets. Legal rights also help companies protect things like their logo, brand name and even a unique way of doing things. Imagine if someone opened a store with a logo that looked exactly like a famous store you love – that wouldn’t be fair, right? Legal rights make sure a company’s logo and name is theirs and can’t be used by others to confuse people.
